About Me

My name is David. I am an engineer, a researcher, and a university/college teacher currently in Georgia. In a past life, I was a middle school teacher, programmer, musician, translator, among other things. I am a lifelong Christian and serve my church as a musician and youth leader.

March 2021

I was awarded a grant from Affordable Learning Georgia to develop a free math course for engineering students!

March 2021

I passed my PhD Qualifying Exams! My exams were in the topics of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.

January 2021

I was one of the 11 recipients of the BOLD Graduate Fellowship offered by the Georgia Tech Center for Teaching and Learning!

August 2020

I joined the Hu Lab for Biolocomotion at Georgia Tech, where I will pursue a PhD in mechanical engineering!

September 2019

I participated in the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival at Emory University.

July 2019

I was one of the 27 educators from around the world selected to attend the Religious Literacy Summer Institute for Educators at Harvard University!

November 2018

I gave a guest lecture at the University of North Georgia titled "Improving Stormwater Quality with Best Management Practices"

January 2018

I received the Google Developer Challenge scholarship!
